Corporal Clifford James Morris (Service No:NX89315) enlisted in the AIF on 18 February 1942 as a Private with 5 Training Battalion, transferred to 209 Light Aid Detachment on 9 October 1943 and was promoted to Corporal - graded Mechanic - on 13 February 1943. Corporal Morris was served with 209 Light Aid Detachment in New Guinea (16 August 1943 - 4 June 1944) and Borneo (Finschafen, Morotai, Balikapan; 27 May 1945 - 2 December 1945), and was Discharged on 13 December 1945.

Born in Sydney, New South Wales in 1907, Cliff was youngest of seven children of Frederick James Morris (b1864 in Dorset, England) and Vida Marsden Alderson (b1867 in Sydney, New South Wales). Frederick was a Labourer when he immigrated in 1885, arriving in Sydney on board the Garonne. Frederick and Vida married in 1889 in Sydney, where they settled and raised their family and Frederick worked as a Traveller.

Cliff started work as a Clerk in Sydney, where in 1934 he married Lola Evelyn Mogg (b1906 in Mudgee, New South Wales) - Lola was working in Sydney as a Clerk. Cliff and Lola settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Cliff worked as a Carter (Small Goods) before serving in the AIF. Following his Discharge, Cliff and Lola remained in Sydney, where Cliff was a Storekeeper and Produce Merchant. Cliff died in 1987 and Lola in 1989.
