On 8 July 1919 William married Dorothy Florence Bangay in the Parish Church, Bound's Green, England. Vicar A.L. Gardiner officiated
Commenced return to Australia on 20 December 1919 aboard HT Runic disembarking on 6 February 1920 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane
