'Todd' Callan

James, known as Todd, was my Nannas cousin. He enlisted with the AIF as he was living in Australia at the time. His brother, Alexander "Son" Callan also enlisted in New Zealand. Both were killed in Gallipoli in 1915.
He was a much loved cousin and my Nana told stories of how the family was distraught by the loss of these brothers. In a letter home 'Son' stated that he saw his brother, James, once on the battlefield. They were on either side of a gully, advancing.
