He had 8 siblings, they were Cyril, Violet, Arthur G, Douglas, George, Agnes, Gordon, Arthur Willie.
His brother Arthur Gladstone Pilcher enlisted after Sydney on the 9th October 1915.
Sydney was killed in action 5th April 1918, he was only 25 years old
