Trevor Michael Murphy was the son of Jeremiah Murphy (1873-1945) and Clara Elizabeth Cooper (1887-1919) of Nanson, Chapman Valley, Western Australia.

His wife was Leah Beatrice Osborne of Northampton, Western Australia.

He served in the AIF in New Guinea and was a Warrant Officer Class 2.
