Son of George Henry O'Hea and Anne Agnes O'Hea nee Yuille of Gisborn Street, Elsternwick, Victoria.

On 22 May 1918 Francis married Letita Milton Vallis in the United Methodist Church, Horfield Chapel,Berkeley Road, Horfield, Bristol, England. George H. Kennedy officiated.

Commenced return to Australia on 5 December 1919 aboard HT Luci Woermann disembarking on 20 January 1920
