Arthur Johns was born in Richmond Victoria on 7th July 1910.  He married Gerda Agnette Rsmussen.

He enlisted with the Australian Army in Caulfield, Victoria on 29th December 1940 in the 1st Mechancial Equipment Compnay.

He was discharged from the Army on 26th May 1945.
