Military Medal
'On May 10th 1917, while the Battalion occupied the wedge in the Hindenburg Line near BULLECOURT, the Aid Post was hit by a shell. The medical officer was buried and Lance Corporal Harrop badly shaken. Though advised to take a rest, he refused to desert the Medical officer and his great bravery and exemplary devotion to duty materially assisted the Medical Officer to maintain a steady evacuation of heavy casualties through a critical period. This N.C.O. has done consistently good work for many months and very often under trying and dangerous circumstances.'
