Erskine's father was unknown and Mother was Phoebe DOWNIE - His Mother Phoebe married George JACKSON in 1900 -on his Commonwealth War Graves record she is recorded as "Margaret"

He enlisted on 7th August, 1916 and embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Argyllshire on 31st October, 1916 with the 23rd Infantry Battalion, 17th reinforcements

Erskine died of wounds in France on 18th Qpril, 1918 and is buried in the Vignacourt British Cemetery
