Uncle Dick
A wonderful gentle man who loved his family. He never married and for many years suffered PTSD from the brutality of war and to much of it. Died from cancer on 14th March 1975. Also he gave his birthdate wrong it should be 11th Oct 1909 at Elmore Victoria.

Richard was born to parents Victoria & Henry Davies ( ww1 veteran) He grew up in Country Victoria around the area of Swan Hill. A beautiful gentle man who was very much loved by his sisters. Uncle Dick saw too much war, sent to Egypt he saw action in Libya, Greece etc.
His 2/5th Battalion sent home in September 1942, a month later sent to New Quinea. Suffering bouts of Malaria ,He was last posted at Aitape in 1945. He suffered greatly from war, in and out of Heildeburg Veteran hospital with P.T.S.D. 623 days New Guinea and 698 days in the Middle East.
Awarded 6 different medals for his duty to his Country. We honour you Uncle Dick
