Death came swift to William Motherwell (better known as William Morton), aged 36 years, at Milroy Station, about 4 p.m. on Friday last He was employed doing some work at the homestead and left the job with the apparent intention of getting a drink. When going towards the water bag he was noticed to stumble and fall and appeared to have fainted. David, the little son of Mr. P. D. Oliver, the manager of Milroy, who was In Morton's company, quickly called attention to his condition, but It was soon manifest that the poor chap was past earthly aid. The Coroner (Mr. W. S. Hertslet, J.P), Sergeant Brindle and Dr. Ferguson went to Milroy. An inquest was held and a verdict of death from natural causes returned.' Deceased was a native of Campsle, N.S.W., and a returned soldier. An Australian flag was placed over the coffin and remained thereon until the burial took place.
