11 Jan 1919: Honoured Military Cross, For work near Harbonniers in 8 August 1918. Citataion reads: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer, under heavy shell and machine gun fire, succeeded without the aid of a carrying party in getting his 6 inch trench mortar placed, and by its fire cleared off some machine guns which were holding up the infantry. In five days advance he silenced many machine gun posts, firing no less than 662 T.M. bombs in the process.
