Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
It was reported in the local paper that Walter Miller was more familiarly known among the Gordon street boys as "Dook." Before enlisting he was employed by Messrs Jones and Dunn, cabinet makers. He was a member of the Foresters' Lodge, Gordon and Citizens' Forces Football Clubs.
He was only 20 years of age when he died and his slightly older brother, 2046 Pte. Percy Miller 14th Battalion AIF, had been killed in action at Gallipoli on the 21 August 1915, aged 21.
They were the sons of George and Kate Miller, of Gordon St., Footscray, Victoria.
