"...1176 Trooper Reginald Thomas Hobbs, 5th Australian Light Horse Regiment, of Richmond River, NSW. A farmer prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 8th Reinforcements from Brisbane aboard HMAT Kyarra on 10 August 1915. On 10 October 1915, shortly after arriving in Egypt, Tpr Hobbs was admitted to the 17th General Hospital at Alexandria. On 29 November 1915 he died from cerebro-spinal meningitis, aged 19, and was buried at the Chatby War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
