Known as Frederick, he was the son of Sydney Herbert C Couch and Ellen Sarah Loughlin.
He married Edna Alvina Cannan on 14 November 1936.
They had two sons.
He died on 5 May 1990 and was buried at the Springvale Botanic Cemetery
