On enlistement in 1915 he was listed as single, and his NoK as his Mother, Mrs Elizabeth Matilda Roberts, Catherine Street, Fullarton East, South Australia

After the War eventually became a Life Member of Col. Light Gardens sub branch until his death on 25/01/1979
