Husband of Ethel ASHWIN nee SARA
James Ashwin was born at Yelma Station 18 January 1926 and was sent to Mogumber in 1934, then Sister Kate's Childrens Cottage Home at Queens Park. He joined the C.M.F. at age 15, and joined the Army Forces in Borneo in 1944. He was one of many Aboriginal men who fought in the Second World War.
