Private Alfred Harrison Le'Serv (Service No:VX68678) enlisted in the AIF on 5 January 1942, and served in Palestine and Egypt (22 August 1942 - 25 February 1943) and New Guinea (8 September 1943 - 22 February 1944). Private Le'Serv was attached to 2/23rd Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 8 March 1946.

Alfred was born in Lang Lang, Southern Gippsland, Victoria in 1907, second of five children of Albert Charles Le Serv (b1879 in London, England) and Lily Hannah Nunter (b1879 at Pleasant Creek, Victoria). Albert immigrated with his parents and siblings in 1884, arriving in Sydney, NSW on board the Warwick. In the early 1900s. Albert was working as a Labourer and Harness Maker at Lang Lang in Victoria where, in 1905, he and Lily married. By 1914, Albert and Lily had settled in Poowong, where they raised their family and Albert worked as a Harness Maker. He served in the AIF in WWI. In the 1930s Albert moved to Melbourne, and later to Sydney, NSW - Lily remained in Poowong.

Alfred worked as a Storeman/Warehouseman in Melbourne, where in 1933 he married Josephine Agnes Cowcher (b1911 in Melbourne, Victoria). Following his Service in WWII, Alfred and Josephine divorced and both remarried. In 1946, Alfred was a Laundry Proprietor in Melbourne when he married his second wife Marguarette Mary Crump (b1921 in Frankston, Victoria). Alfred and Marguarette settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Alfred was a Laundry Propritor and Cab Proprietor/Driver. Alfred died in 1967 and Marguarette in 1978.
