Victor was the eldest of four children of Arthur John Grover (b1897 in Beverley, WA) and Hilda May Batt (b1897 in Jarrahdale, WA). Arthur (a Farm Hand) and Hilda married in 1921 in Beverley WA. Arthur enlisted in the ACMF in 1942 (Private; Service No:W26825) and remained in the Army until the mid 1960s.
Victor was a Mechanic in Beverley WA when he enlisted in the Australian Army in March 1944. He served (Private; Service No:WX22813) in New Britain (19 February 1945 to 5 July 1946) and was attached to 37/52nd Infantry Battalion when he was Discharged in December 1946.
Returning to Perth WA, the 1949 Electoral Roll indicates Victor was still in the Military. In 1950 he married Patricia Lawrence (b1927 in Perth, WA) and the couple settled in Fremantle WA where Victor was a Plant Attendant. By 1968 the couple had moved to Kwinana WA where Victor worked as an Engine Driver. Victor died in 1993 and Patricia in 2009.
