4950 Private (Pte) Vincent Henry Rueben Ward, 15th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Windsor, Vic (formally of Waipu, New Zealand). Pte Ward enlisted on 31 December 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Wiltshire in Melbourne on 7 March 1916. On 20 April 1916 he was transferred to the 58th Battalion. On 17 September 1919 he was transferred to the 5th Machine Gun Battalion. He returned to Australia on 15 May 1919. During the Second World War V5875 Pte Ward re-enlisted on 9 September 1940 for home service. He served with the 6th Auxiliary Horse Transport Company until he was discharged on 4 December 1941.
