Private Henry Maxwell Holdsworth (Service No:VX111684) initially served in the ACMF (Driver; Service No:V170551) with 15th Infantry Training Battalion and 6 Battalion VDC from 3 October 1941 to 7 October 1942. Henry was born in Terang, Victoria in 1921, third of five children of Ernest Holdsworth (b1890 in Geelong, Victoria) and second wife Annie Hollaway (b1895 in Benalla, Victoria). Ernest (a Widower with one child) was a Farmer at Hexham via Mortlake and Annie was a Dressmaker in Mortlake in 1918 when they married in Casterton. Following his Discharge, Henry worked as a Drover at Spring Creek via Koroit, Victoria and in the early 1950s he and Mavis settled in Hawkesbury via Koroit where they raised their family and Henry was a Farmer.
