The Robinsons
My parents came to Australia in 1950 as Displaced Persons, sponsored by the Australian Government. They lived at 41 Farnell Street, Merrylands. The house was owned by Stephen Allanby 'Allan" Robinson and his wife Ada. Allan was born in Gloucester on the 5th May, 1919 and he married Ada Elizabeth Isabella Campbell in Concord in 1942. After being discharged from the Australian Army the Robinsons moved to Farnell Street, where they lived until they moved to 27 Farnell Street in 1963. Allan and Ada were divorced later and Allan moved west to live with his son Russell. Allan died on 30th June 2002 and his buried at Rookwood. The Robinsons helped Mum and Dad a lot, and they are ever grateful!
