George Yovich (Jure Yovic) born 1910 and died 1975
George a ploughman, immigrated to Freemantle W.A. in 1930 coming from Dalmatia in present day Croatia. George like so many other Italian and Croations made their way to the Goldfields. He found his way to a gold town called Gwalia. It was the Sons of Gwalia Gold mine. Some 6 years later his wife Milla arrived in the town where Gorge had built a tin shack with Hessian walls and a diet floor. The shack like so many others in the town was very small, had only a few luxuries like a wood stove and chip heater for heating the bath water. He and his wife Milla had two daughters born in Gwalia. George enlisted in the second world war.
