One of three brothers (Robert and Gordon) who served in WWII, Private Raymond Ingram (Service No:W69779) served in the ACMF with 4th Battalion (WA) VDC from 26 April 1942 to 11 July 1944. Father (Ernest; Service No:3387) served as a Private in WWI.
Snowy was born in Collie, Western Australia in 1910, fifth of eleven children of Ernest Clarence Ingram (b1876 at Vegetable Creek (Emmaville), New South Wales) and his second wife Winifred (Winnie) Gillett (b1884 in Lancashire, England). Ernest (a Miner) and Winnie ( a Cotton Spinner who immigrated in 1901, arriving in Maryborough, QLD on board the Duke of Norfolk) moved to Western Australia in 1907, and married in Collie. Ernest worked as a Miner at Collie Burn via Collie,where he and Winnie settled and raised their family. Ernest served in the Army in WWI, and worked as a Miner and Taxi Driver until his death.
Snowy worked as a Coal Miner at Collie Burn, and in 1933 married Margaret Williamson Annandale (b1914 in Collie, Western Australia). Snowy and Margaret setttled at Collie Burn, where they raised their family - Snowy, a Miner, was a player/member of the Miners' Rovers Football Club. Following Margaret's death in 1963, Snowy remained in Collie and worked as a Miner. Snowy died in 1981.
