Son of Frank Suetomis Officer and Ethel Catherine Marze Officer nee Umphelby of Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria
Brother of Hugh Ronald Officer who discharged in England having served with the 7th Field Artillery Brigade. He was granted a commission with the Indian Army reaching the rank of Brigadier General.
Commenced return to Australia on 23 September 1919 aboard HS Ascanius
