Leslie Hamilton Moses was born on 17 August 1880 in Hamilton, Waikato, his father, Joseph, was 34 and his mother, Caroline, was 27. He married Fanny Louisa Parsons in 1901 in Perth, Western Australia. He died on 31 July 1917 in Belgium at the age of 36, and was buried in Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
