Private Frederick James Thompson (Service No:V367560) enlisted in the ACMF on 5 June 1942 and was attached to 11 Battalion VDC when he was Discharged on 20 September 1945.

Born in 1901 in Bushfield Victoria, Frederick was the second of three children of Alfred William Thompson (b1872 in Woodford, Victoria) and Ada Charlotte Rule (b1874 in Yarpturk, Victoria). Alfred (a Corn Dealer) and Ada married in 1898 in Woodford, Victoria. By 1913 Alfred was a Butcher in Warnambool and 1921 a Painter and Decorator in Sunshine, Corio.

 Fred was a Dairy Farmer at Drouin in Gippsland, Victoria in 1925 when he married Adeline Melba Beynon (b1903 in Bendigo, Victoria). Fred and Adeline settled in Drouin where they raised their family and Fred was a Dairy Farmer. Fred died in 1984.
