At the time of enlistment Alexander was residing in Gympie, QLD.

Son of James Orr and Mary Orr nee Andrew of Bynton Street, Kyneton, Victoria.

Commenced return to Australia on 15 February 1916 aboard HT Ronic disembarking on 14 May 1916 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane

During 1923c Alexander married Charlotte Mary Gardiner in Victoria
