An Original Anzac who served during The Great War, resting at Sandgate Cemetery.

98 years ago today, on the Saturday afternoon of the 6th June 1925, Honorary Lieutenant Colonel John Brady Nash (M.D., M.L.C., V.D.), Australian Army Medical Corps, surgeon from 219 Macquarie Street, Sydney, New South Wales, father of 6 daughters, was laid to rest at Sandgate Cemetery, age 68. CATHOLIC 1-A Spec. 51.

Born at sea near the Canary Islands en route to Melbourne on the 19th May 1857 to Andrew and Margaret Nash nee Brady; husband of Agnes Nash nee McCormick (married 5.4.1888, Waverley, N.S.W., died?), John enlisted at 57 years of age on the 19th October 1914 at Sydney, N.S.W.

Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board Transport A55 Kyarra on the 28th November 1914.

John returned home on the 2nd January 1916 (no reason stated), being discharged on the 28th January 1916.
