Son of George Edwin Charles Evans and Elizabeth (nee Mitchell)

Awarded the Military Medal (www.awm.gov.au)... The 11th Field Company Engineers daily reports reads;

"Pack Mules were successfully used independently used by the company and a little later for transport to forward jobs. Driver AA Paget received Military medal for good work with the pack train, while 2nd Corporal CC Jones and Lance Corporal WW Evans were similarly rewarded for devotion for duty with the sappers." - This was during the battle of Messines
