Fred was born in Claremont, Fremantle, Western Australia in 1909, only child of George Henry Prussian (b1872 in Grenfell, New South Wales) and Mary Theresa Migro (b1880 in Avenel, Victoria). George was a Gold Miner before serving with 3rd New South Wales Mounted Rifles (Corporal; Service No:1298) in the Boer War, disembarking in Albany, Western Australia in 1902. George (a Labourer) and Mary married in Perth in 1906 - Mary had arrived in Fremantle in 1902 on board the Wollowra and lived in Northam. George and Mary lived in Fremantle and Bunbury, where George was a Carpenter. Following Mary's death in 1912, George lived in Yilgarn, Nannup and Boddington, where he worked as a Wood Cutter and Timber Hewer.
Fred worked in Boddington as a Labourer (Industrial Extracts Ltd), and in 1937 in Narrogin married Grace May Strange (b1915 in Hotham via Narrogin, Western Australia). Fred and Grace settled in Boddington, where they raised their family and Fred worked as a Labourer. Following his Discharge from the Army, Fred was a Timber Worker at the Boddington Saw Mill, and was active in his local community - a member of the Boddington footbal and cricket teams, and competing in log chopping and sawing competitions. Fred died in 1980 and Grace in 1984.
