Alan was born in Mortigallup via Albany, WA in 1915, seventh of eight children of George Edward Bunker (b1876 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Annie Ansit Williams (b1882 in Melbourne, Victoria). George and Annie married in 1901 and lived in Kalgoorlie and Boulder where George was a Fireman. By 1910 they had moved their family to Tenterden WA where George was a Farmer, moving to Mortigallup by 1914. George was a Farmer at Happy Valley Farm in Mortigallup.
Alan was Farm Manager at Glen Lyon Farm in Kendenup and in 1939 married Irene (Rene) Elise Duff (b1914 in Kalgoorlie, WA). Following his Discharge from the Army, Alan returned to Kendenup where he was a Farmer (Orcard - Glen View Farm) in 1947 when he was critically injured - the truck he was driving crahed into a tree and Alan died in the Ambulance en route to hospital. Rene died in 1997.
