William Thomas COOK was born in 1898 at Goldie, a small settlement near Lancefield, Victoria.
His parents were David and Alice Cokk who were living in Romsey when William enlisted in the AIF on 9/2/1916.
After training William left Melbourne on 20/6/1916 aboard the HMAT Runic as part of the 38th Battalion.
William was killed in action at Messines, Belgium between the 7th and the 9th of June 1917.
His body was not identified and he is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres, Belgium.
