Add my storyBiography contributed by Evan Evans
From Matt Shmeh (great grandson)
On this day in 1917 my great grandfather Pte Herbert Wilson SN 1970 was wounded in both legs by machine fire at the battle of Passchendaele with B company 38th Battalion. On return to Australia he suffered complications as the wounds never healed and my grandmother remembered his long stays at the military hospitals and the bandages with open wounds right up to his death aged only 33 from renal failure (no doubt exacerbated by the wounds)
Lest we forget
