Rohan - born in 1922 in Dwellingup WA - was the son of James (Jim) Henry Martin (b1901 in Denmark WA) and Gladys May Rodda (b1898 in Lancashire, England). Jim was a Timber Worker in Holyoake nr Dwellingup WA in 1920 when he and Gladys married in Dwellingup. Following Jim's death in 1938 Gladys moved to Perth WA.

In 1941 Rohan was a Fibrolite (asbestos) Worker in Perth when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W20929). He was attached to 16 Battalion when he was Discharged (Medically Unfit) in May 1942. Rohan was working as a Truck Driver in Perth WA in 1945 when he married Therese Eleanor Howson (b1925 in Wellington, WA) and the couple settled in Perth. In 1969 Therese died, and by the mid 1970s Rohan had relocated to South Hedland where he was a Bricklayer. Rohan died in 2000.
