Private Alfred Henry Fisher (Service No:W75644) served in the ACMF with 15 Battalion VDC from 8 April 1942 to 31 July 1944 (Reserves List).
Alf was born in Beverley, Western Australia in 1910, fifth of nine children of William Edwin Fisher (b1874 at Grace Plains, Balaklava, South Australia) and Elizabeth Maria Quinlan (b1879 in Northam, Western Australia). William went to Western Australia in the late 1890s to prospect on the Goldfields, and was in Northam in 1900 when he and Elizabeth married. William and Elizabeth were briefly in South Australia before returning by 1904 o Western Australia, where they settled at County Peak via Beverley. Pioneers in the County Peak District, William was a Farmer and one of the first in the District to own a motor vehicle. William and Elizabeth retired from the property in 1926, settling in Beverley where William ran a Taxi Service and was a member of the Beverley Roads Board.
Alf worked as a Farm Hand at Hines Hill via Northam, and in 1941 in Kununoppin via Toodyay married Nellie (Nell) Dickinson (b1901 in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia) - Nell was a Waitress at the Commercial Hotel in Mt Magnet. Alf nd Nell settled in Kununoppin, where Alf was a Shearer. Nell died in 1973 and Alf in 1980.
