Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

When his brother's truck overturned almost in front of their parent's home at Wickepin last night, 23 year old ex-digger William Irwin Holdaway was killed instantly.

His brother, 30 year old Michael Ernest Holdaway escaped almost un hurt.  The truck - a two ton model - was wrecked.

The Holdaway family live near a bend on the Narrogin Road at the entrance to Wickepin.

The two brothers who worked in the district were returning home about 8 p.m. when their truck overturned on the bend.   Their parents were on the scene a few minutes later.

Victim of the smash had served with the A.I.F. in the Middle East and in New Guinea.

His funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Wickepin cemetery.  News of the fatality was received today by Police commissioner J. Doyle from Inspector Drysdale of Narrogin police district.  Contable J.G. Bunt of Wickepin is making inquiries.
