Harry was the second youngest of twelve children of Alfred Hislop (b1871 in Quindalup WA) and Alice Mary Harwood (b1875 in Quindalup WA). Alfred - a Horse Trainer and Racer - and Alice married in 1896 in Quindalup WA. Alfred joined the Railways and the family lived in Quindalup, Bunbury, Brunswick Junction, Fremantle and Perth.
Harry - a Butcher - married Mavis Bertha Larsen (b1919 in Fremantle WA) in 1934. Harry was a member of the 44th Battalion Militia Band with his six brothers, and a member of the Leederville Town Band with brother Curly.
In May 1940 Harry enlisted in the Australian Army (Private; Service No:WX2895), and was attached to 2/16 Infantry Battalion when he was Discharged in October 1945. Six of Harry's brothers served in WWI/WWII.
Harry and Mavis divorced, and in 1945 in Perth WA, Harry married Marion Elizabeth Anderson (b1909 in Ballarat, Victoria).Marion had worked in Busselton WA as a Telephonist and in Perth as a Ward Maid. Harry and Marion settled in Perth, where Harry worked as a Truck Driver, Dry Cleaner and Labourer. He died in 1989 and Marion in 1968.
