Corporal George Maxwell LLoyd (Service No:TX3571) enlisted in the Australian Army on 20 June 1940 and was attached to 2/40th Battalion when he was Discharged on 10 December 1945. Corporal Lloyd was a PoW.

Born in 1908 in Ulverstone Tasmania, Max was the sixth of nine children of George Frederick Norman Lloyd (b1872 in Campbell Town, Tasmania) and Sarah Hannah Heazlewood (b1873 at Port Sorrell, Tasmania). George (a Builder) and Sarah married in 1898 in Ulverstone where they settled and raised their family and George worked as a Builder and Bricklayer.

Max was a Bank Clerk in Launceston in 1932 when he married Katherine (Kitty) Ethel McKenna (b1900 in Ulverstone, Tasmania). Max and Kitty settled in Launceston where Max was a Bank Clerk/Officer. Max died in 1986 and Kitty in 1994.
