Private Terence John Kennedy (Service No:WX13393) enlisted in the Australian Army on 21 May 1941 and served with 2/28h Infantry Battalion in the Middle East (23 September 1941 - 24 January 1943). Private Kennedy was attached to 2/43 Infantry Battalion when he was Discharged on 11 May 1944.
Born in 1921 in Albany WA, Terence was the eldest of three children of Terence Patrick Kennedy (b1900 in Albany, WA) and Florence Sydney Strettell (b1903 in Lancashire, England) - Florence immigrated in 1906, arriving in Fremantle WA on board the Oruba. Terence Snr (a Tailor) and Florence married in 1922 in Katanning WA and settled in Albany where they raised their family and Terence was a Tailor.
Terence worked as a Labourer in Albany, and in 1945 was in Perth WA when he married Una May Fallows (b1927 in Ravensthorpe, WA). Terence and Una lived in Albany where Terence was a Barman before settling in Perth in 1949 where he worked as a Kitchenman and Storeman. In 1958 they were in Hopetoun via Katanning where Terence was a Welder and Una was Postmistress. The couple returned to Perth where Terence worked as a Welder. Terence died in 1986 and Una in 2019.
