Private John William Irvine (Service No:N265107) served in the ACMF with 34th Battalion from 2 May 1941 to 10 January 1942.
John was born in Jamberoo via Kiama, New South Wales in 1916, second of six children of Henry (Harry) Herbert Irvine (b1884 in Kiama, New South Wales) and Elsie Margaret Walker (b1889 in Kiama, New South Wales). Harry and Elsie married in 1914 in Kiama, and settled at Burra Creek in Jamberoo via Kiama, where they raised their family and Harry was a Dairy Farmer.
John was a Dairy Farmer on Colewood at Jamberoo via Kiama when he served in the Army in 1941, and in 1950 in Kiama he married Ivy Isabell Alexander (nee Gittoes; b1909 in Gundagai, New South Wales). John and Ivy settled at Pinegrove in Jamberoo, where they raised their family and John was a Dairy Farmer. From the early 1970s John worked in Kiama as a Factory Hand until retirement. John died in 1993 and Ivy in 1997.
