Son of Peter Olson of Korseberg, Sweden.

Gustaf arrived in Australia on 23 October 1911 aboard SS Hellenic. On 12 November 1915 Gustaf took the Oath of Allegience.

Commenced return to Australia on 1 June 1919 aboard HT Somali disembarking on 8 July 1919

Post war Gustaf became a member of the Fremantle RSL Sub Branch
