John is resting at Sutton Veny (St. John) Churchyard, Wiltshire, England. Plot II Row F Grave II.

Mr. Stoop’s name has been inscribed on the Merewether (Mitchell Park) Memorial Gates (photos, unveiled on the 12th March 1921, 322 names originally inscribed, 44 Fallen, 335 names now inscribed, 51 Fallen, located at the corner of Robert and Mitchell Streets, Merewether, N.S.W.), Merewether Public School Roll of Honor and the Newcastle South Public School Roll of Honour.

There is no headstone at father’s gravesite, therefore no memorial inscription to tell us of the loss of his son during The Great War, so November 2021 I erected a Memorial cross adorned with poppies in remembrance of his service and supreme sacrifice for God, King & Country. METHODIST 1 (WESLEYAN) F NW. 65.
