John Hector McDonald Ferguson was born on 10.12.1899 in Williamstown. He enlisted on 31.3.1942 in Armadale. He was married to Melba McDonald Ferguson, and was a manager with Crystal Glass Pty Ltd of Melbourne, a Presbyterian and living in Glen Iris.
He was posted to part-time duty with the 3rd Battalion V.D.C. in Melbourne on 22.5.1942. Then transferred to 4 Battalion VDC on 30.6.42 and discharged from it to Area 39C on 4.1.43
His highest rank was Gunner with the 102nd Hon. Battery
