Biography contributed by Bronwyn Higgs
Born in 1890 in Parwan (near Bacchus Marsh), Thomas Blakeston Edwards was the son of Thomas Edwards and Honora Jane Richards, farmers of Parwan, near Bacchus Marsh. He was given the middle name, Blakeston, in honour of his maternal grandparents' property at Myrniong. His maternal grandparents were pioneers of the district and notable breeders of colonial Clydesdale horses.
Thomas' three older brothers had enlisted in the AIF during World War I and all returned safely.
Prior to the war, Thomas worked as an agricultural labourer and after the war, he inherited his father's farm, Wilberrie at Bacchus Marsh and worked as a farmer for the remainder of his life.
He married Nellie and the couple had no issue. Thomas died in Bacchus Marsh in 1963.
