Private Hubert Charles Sanderson Keyser (Service No:W86722) enlisted in the ACMF at Kellerberrin WA on 23 May 1942 with 15th Battalion VDC. Private Sanderson was attached to 9 Battalion VDC when he was Discharged on 15 October 1945.

The second of eight children, Hubert was born in 1900 at Albany WA to Charles Christopher Keyser (b1871 in Busselton, WA) and Lucy Sanderson (b1876 in Durham, England). Charles was a Printer's Apprentice and Lucy a Dressmaker's Apprentice prior to their marriage in Ballarat, Victoria in 1898. The couple settled that year in Albany WA where Charles was Assistant to the Town Clerk, Town Clerk and in 1904/1905 was elected to the WA Legislative Assembly seat of Albany. The family later lived in Greenbushes, Wagin and Kellerberrin where Charles was Town Clerk and Secretary to Road Boards. Following Retirement, Carles and Lucy moved to Melbourne, Victoria.
Hubert worked for Elder Smith and Coy as a Clerk and Stock and Wool Broker/Manager and Auctioneer at Meekering, Kellerberrin and Geraldton. In 1921 Hubert married Marjorie Roberta Watson (b1902 in Wagin, WA) and following their Divorce in 1947 both remarried - Marjorie settled in Broome WA. Hubert remarried in Geraldton in 1947 to Winifred Mollie Diamond (nee Clairs; b1912 in York, WA). In the late 1950s Hubert and Winifred moved to Perth where Hubert was a Stud Stock Expert. Winifred died in 1982 and Hubert in 1988.
