Herbert Henry Phillips
Herbert Phillips enlisted in Adelaide a few months before his 19th birthday. He was unmarried weighed 97 lbs (44 kg), stood 5'5" (165 cm) tall and had blue eyes light brown hair and a sallow complexion.
His unit embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT Aeneas on 30 October 1917. Herbert was granted leave while serving overseas to attend Palmers shipbuilding and Iron Co in Hebburn on Tyne for three months.
After his return to Australia he married Edith May Wright in 1922. Herbert died aged only 30 it was buried at West Terrace Cemetery. His widow died on 25 March 1966 age 63 and is buried at Centennial Park Cemetery
