Private Kenneth Claude Jones (Service No:N252904) enlisted in the ACMF on 19 January 1942. He was attached to 11th NSW Battalion VDC on 1 December 1943 when he Discharged to serve with the RAAF. Mustered as a Fitter IIE, Sergeant Jones (Service No:A2636) then served in Korea, attached as a Leading Aircraftman to No 77 Squadron (Fighter). In 1951 Corporal Jones was awarded a Mention in Despatches 'For Meritorious Services and Selfless Devotion in Korea' (Australian War Memorial). Sergeant Jones was attached to 486 Squadron when he Discharged on 16 March 1960.

Born in 1923 in Sydney NSW, Ken was the second of four children of Claude Ardolph Frederick Jones (b1895 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Daisy May Cook (b1900 in Goulbourn, NSW). Claude (a Tram Conductor) and Daisy married in 1922 in Goulburn NSW and settled in Sydney where they raised their family and Claude worked as a Tram Conductor. Claude had served in WWI (Private; Service no:3361).

Ken was a Fitter and Turner prior to his enlistment in the ACMF in 1942. In 1943 he enlisted in the RAAF, serving in Korea in 1950/1951. Ken remained in the RAAF and in 1956 in Cootamundra, NSW married Maureen Joan Blackney (b1933 in Cootamundra, NSW) - Maureen was a Shop Assistant. Ken and Maureen settled in Rooty Hill in Sydney,NSW and Ken is recorded in the Census and Electoral Records through to 1980 as an Airman in the RAAF. Ken died in 1987.
