The second of three children (sons), John was born in 1917 in Redfern, Sydney NSW to John Septimus Moore (b1881 in Glebe NSW) and Ethel May Games (b1888 in Perth WA). John Snr (a Carter) and Ethel (a Nurse) married in 1912 in Newtown, Sydney NSW. John Snr and Ethel settled in Sydney where they raised their family and John Snr worked as a Carter/Carrier.
John was working as a Contract Carrier in August 1940 when he enlisted in the ACMF on Part Time Duty. In November that year, he married Olga (Bubbles) Jean Bowden (b1921 in Sydney NSW). John was a Private (Service No:N258040) attached to 11 Battalion VDC when he Discharged in February 1944.
John and Olga settled in Sydney NSW where John worked as a Carrier until the late 1970s. He and Olga retired to the Gold Coast, QLD where John worked as a Bar Steward. Olga died in 1984 and John 1993.
