Private Thomas Hinton Franks (Service No:N425333) served (Part Time Duty) with the ACMF 2 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps (VDC) from 21 April 1942 to 30 September 1945.

Born in 1909 at Maclean NSW, Thomas was the youngest of seven children of Thomas Samuel Boddington Franks (b1874 at Woodford Island, Maclean, NSW) and first wife Eva Jane Wallwork (b1878 at Bushgrove via Grafton, NSW), Thomas Snr (a Labourer) and Eva married in 1900 at Maclean, NSW where they settled and raised their family and Thomas Snr worked as a Labourer and Farmer.

Thomas worked as a Fisherman in Maclean NSW and in 1934 married Thelma Agnes Smith (b1912 in Dungarubba, NSW). The couple settled in Maclean where they raised their family and Thomas worked as a Fisherman. Thomas died in 1988 and Thelma in 1995.
